In 1982, right after Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt, We (Doron and Mika Goldman) left our home near Sharem A-Sheik. We left behind the white sands of the Sinai, the clear beautiful sea, but we did not want to give up a life of peace and quiet, sorrounded by pristine, unspoilt nature.

After a long journey north, we settled on the southern slope of Mount Kutar in the Upper Galilee. On the mountain one can find remnants of ancient settlements from the Cannanite Period and the Mishna Period, all known as Kadita.

We settled on a bare mountain, with only two olive trees for company, and turned a new leaf in our lives. For the next 18 months as we built a stone house, we stayed in a tent. We grew our vegetables in a little patch, using water that we had to fetch all the way up the mountain, Those were hard working days and quiet nights by candle light. After the house was built we started cultivating our little farm, planting olive trees, grape vines, figs and a vegetable and herb garden, all organically grown. We also enjoyed raising our own goats and hens.

We always liked to have our friends come over and share the beauty of the mountain with us, and enjoy the peaceful, magnificent Galillie scenery. In 1990 we decided to make this favorite pastime of us into a profession and built our first cabin. Today we have 5 cabins and a small, intimate restaurant.

People often ask us whether it is not difficult to live far away from the city and its attractions, and we readily admit that it was not always easy. Is such a life worth the effort? When you have visited us you will be able to answer that for yourself...
